Festival of Lessons and Carols

The Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys. Scott Bosscher, director.

Lessons and Carols is a traditional service of the Anglican Church, and has been sung annually at Kings College Cambridge. The Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys, under the direction of Scott Bosscher, has presented the service throughout western Michigan during the Christmas season for many years. The Nine Lessons tell the story of humankind’s salvation through Jesus Christ, beginning with the Genesis account of the Fall, continuing through several prophesies, and concluding with Christ’s Incarnation. The carols and hymns are selected to highlight some aspect of the Lesson each follows.

Tom and Elizabeth Tuttle have sponsored this special free appearance of the Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys as a gift to the people of St. Paul’s and the greater Muskegon community. There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken for the benefit of the choristers scholarship fund.

A reception will follow the service in the great Guild Hall adjoining the sanctuary at St. Paul's.
